Department Description

The National Registry of Diseases Office (NRDO) is responsible for the collection and analyses of data relating to major non-communicable diseases for the purposes of supporting national health policies, health services and health promotion initiatives / programmes.

The Job
Reporting to the Deputy Director, NRDO, you will contribute to the monitoring of trends, risk factors and survival for major non-communicable diseases (cancer, stroke, renal failure and acute myocardial infarction) and conditions (such as kidney/liver donation) in Singapore and conduct public health research.

You will be responsible for:

  • Analysis and interpretation of health trends (e.g. analyzing and interpreting disease and survival trends, undertaking statistical modelling to assess impact of health promotion programmes)
  • Writing of disease registry reports and publications
  • Participating in research projects
  • Providing advice on data collection and management methodologies and ways to improve data quality

Requirements

  • Qualification in medical, health or biomedical sciences 
  • Qualification in Public Health/Epidemiology is preferred
  • Relevant working experience in the field of health-related data analytics or medical epidemiology is an advantage
  • Strong in communication skills (oral and written)
  • Good command of English
  • Able to use common software and statistical applications such as STATA and SPSS
