The Mission of Ministry of Transport is to develop Singapore's land, sea and air transport sectors so as to enhance our economic competitiveness and quality of life in a knowledge-based economy. MOT oversees the development and regulation of the following sectors:

• Civil Aviation and Air Transport
• Maritime and Ports
• Land Transport

Besides providing an efficient and cost-effective transportation in Singapore, it also strives to make Singapore an international civil aviation and maritime centre for the region.

The ministry sets the strategic and policy direction while operations and regulatory works are carried out by the statutory boards under its charge. There are four statutory boards which are established by Acts of Parliament: the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Public Transport Council (PTC). The ministry also oversees the operation of the Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB).

Responsibilities

You will analyse, review and recommend policies to enhance Singapore's competitiveness as an aviation hub for both passenger and cargo traffic, in partnership with stakeholders in the aviation system.  As part of the work, you will need to engage airlines and analyse air hub development and aviation industry trends so as to formulate facilitative and progressive policies. You will also support the advancement of a liberal framework for more air services and city links to Singapore through the development and review of bilateral and multilateral air services agreements.  In addition, you will evaluate and recommend policies to enhance inter-modal connectivity involving air travel. 


Requirements

You should be a Singapore citizen and preferably with some working experience in the aviation industry in planning and operations work or in public policy work.  You should have excellent analytical, strategic thinking, writing and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to think out-of-the box and work well in a team and under pressure.
