The National Research Foundation (NRF), a department under the Prime Minister's Office, sets the national direction for R&D and coordinates the research agenda of different agencies to transform Singapore into an innovative, entrepreneurial and knowledge-intensive economy, with R&D as a key driver.

We invite outstanding candidates with the right background, experience and the passion to shape the long term R&D landscape in Singapore to apply.


  • Develop strategies to advance Singapore’s RIE partnerships with cities, countries and international organisations which share common interests in science and technology (S&T);
  • Work closely with RIE technology domains and key partner agencies within Singapore’s RIE ecosystem (e.g. MOE, MOH, universities, A*STAR etc) to strategise our international collaborations;
  • Explore new modalities of RIE international collaboration (e.g. broadening partnerships from research and development to areas like innovation & enterprise, pursuing multilateral cooperation);
  • Monitor S&T developments and coordinate foresighting across key research and innovation hubs internationally;
  • Review existing RIE partnership agreements, so that they remain relevant to Singapore; and
  • Identify areas where Singapore could leverage our S&T base to expand our international influence.



2-5 years’ experience, with background in science, engineering or technology management, with a demonstrated aptitude in working on policy, planning or strategy work relating to these areas. Given that the candidate is representing NRF for our international partnerships, a strong understanding in science/engineering is required, in order to effectively work with stakeholders in the RIE ecosystem. The candidate should also possess strong analytical abilities, a broad sense of perspective and ability to collaborate well with stakeholders from all levels. Candidates with prior experience in staffing for overseas work trips is preferred.
