The Attorney-General's Chambers plays a pivotal role in enhancing the rule of law and strengthening the efficiency and integrity of Singapore's legal system. It also assists the Judiciary in the fair and impartial administration of justice in Singapore in carrying out its prosecutorial functions.

As the Government’s legal adviser in all aspects of public administration law, criminal law, international law and legislation, AGC is able to provide a vast array of legal expertise for the good governance of Singapore.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting Legal Officers in Civil Litigation and Legal Advisory Work
  • Assist Legal Officers in handling and managing files relating to monetary or tortious claims involving the Government, judicial review or constitutional challenges
  • Provide administrative support to Legal Officers
  • Prepare and file court documents
  • Assist in setting up and taking notes in client meetings and witness interviews
  • Gather and organize facts relevant to cases
  • Assist in legal research and preparation of legal advice
  • Assist in the drafting and vetting of legal documents
  • Liaise with clients, solicitors and members of public
  1. Training and Knowledge Management
  • Organize and maintain the Division's knowledge management databases/systems
  • Give inputs on the Civil Litigation Support Team's training and development needs

Requirements:

  • A Diploma in Legal Studies or Law and Management is preferred;
  • Well organized with a keen eye for details, meticulous and committed to delivering high quality work;
  • Strong in administrative skills;
  • Excellent people, communication, planning, writing and presentation skills;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team; and
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a legal setting is required.

All new appointees will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
