The successful job applicant will work within the Financial Assistance team to administer and provide support for various financial assistance schemes, bursaries and awards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administer financial assistance schemes (including publicity of schemes, interview of students, review and streamlining of internal work processes etc.)
  • Train and supervise groups of temp staff for large-scale financial scheme application exercises
  • Collect, sort and process application forms
  • Archive documents and maintain databases
  • Prepare papers, reports and meeting minutes
  • Provide administrative support for the team and the department, e.g. meetings, interviews, budgetary activities, procurement matters, website maintenance etc.
  • Handle email, phone, counter and face-to-face enquiries

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of work experience (prior work experience in the area of financial assistance or in government sectors doing financial-related work would be an advantage)
  • Must be organised, meticulous, results-focused, proactive and resourceful; able to work independently and in a team, multi-task and work effectively under pressure during peak periods
  • Strong communication (both spoken and written) and interpersonal skills; able to handle complaints and solve problems
