The Strategic Planning Department oversees NEA’s strategic planning processes and supports management in developing the organisation’s strategic priorities to meet future challenges and achieve our mission and vision.

 

As part of the Strategic Planning Department’s (SPD) Performance Management team, you will be involved in the development of data analytics and visualisation capabilities to enhance NEA’s performance management process and reporting. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in other aspects of strategic and corporate planning, including the planning and execution of strategic planning events. You will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Play a leading role in the conceptualisation, prototyping and operationalisation of analytical and prescriptive dashboards to provide effective visualisations, glean more insights from the data and support decision making including:
    • Gathering and understanding the requirements from various departments
    • Designing and prototyping dashboards
    • Operationalising of dashboards with the appointed vendor
    • Managing roll-out and implementation of new processes
    • Providing maintenance support for the dashboards to various departments
  • Explore and implement the usage of technology / building of models to provide predictive capabilities to enhance NEA’s performance management
  • Champion the use of technology to support / automate data processing and ETL (extract, transform and load) for departments
  • Establish the data governance and approval framework
  • Support the building of internal data analytics capabilities through the provision of structured training and mentoring


Job Requirements:

·         Degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Business Analytics with at least 3-5 years of working experience

•     Industry experience as a Data Specialist or related speciality (e.g. Software Specialist, Business Intelligence Specialist, Business Analyst)

•     Strong writing and analytical skills

•     Highly self-motivated individual who is mature, independent and resourceful

•     Good interpersonal and communication skills

•     Able to work under pressure and a good team player

•     Experience in data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing

•     Prior knowledge or implementation on the use of data visualisation tools (e.g. Qlik Sense) and analytics modelling using statistical programming (e.g. R or Python)

•     Prior knowledge or experience in the field of large-scale data warehousing, analytics project and decision analysis would be an advantage
