Manager – Cybersecurity Specialist

Responsibilities

You will be part of IMDA’s cybersecurity specialist team to develop a resilient, trusted and secured telecom infrastructure for Singapore. The cybersecurity specialist team will serve as the subject matter expert for all telecommunication cybersecurity matters. In your role, you will assist in the conceptualisation, development and execution of telecommunication cybersecurity initiatives.

The successful candidate shall be responsible, among others, to:

  • Stay abreast of updates and trends in the current and emerging cybersecurity landscape (e.g. threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, techniques, standards, etc) in the ICM sectors.
  • Develop new cybersecurity initiatives for the ICM sectors by identifying unmitigated vulnerabilities (e.g. via cyber threat profiling, in-depth analysis, research and investigations), as well as new or innovative cybersecurity trends and technologies that can be translated into these initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to obtain buy-in for these initiatives.
  • Work with the IMDA teams to strategize, plan, execute and manage these initiatives.
  • Work with the IMDA teams to review, update and develop cybersecurity roadmaps for Singapore’s ICM sectors.
  • Contribute to the architecting, design, development, deployment, commissioning and continuous improvement of the necessary systems and infrastructure required to support IMDA’s new initiatives.
  • Formulate cyber threat hunting techniques relevant to the ICM sectors, deploy these techniques to enhance threat detection capabilities, and maintain them to ensure their continued relevance.
  • Engage industry stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.

 

Requirements

  • Background in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Systems or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience, of which at least 3 years are in cybersecurity areas such as cybersecurity governance, risk assessment, consultancy, threat analysis, etc.
  • Familiar with cyber threat intelligence and cyber threat hunting.
  • Possess good writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Able to show motivation and initiative, problem-solve, be flexible, and handle multiple projects.
  • Able to work both independently or with multiple teams.
  • Candidates with the following will be preferred:
    • Relevant information security certifications from internationally recognized institutions (e.g. ISC2, ISACA, SANS/GIAC, EC-Council, CREST, etc).
    • At least 2 years of working experience in ICT project management.
    • Strong technical knowledge and experience in the cybersecurity aspects of networking, telecommunications or ICT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and embedded, control and IoT devices.
    • Familiar with both Windows and Linux operating environments.
    • Familiar with telecommunication and mobile technologies.
    • Familiar with government security requirements and/or processes (e.g. procurement).

 

Position will commensurate with experience.
