Overview of Division

The Division leads the development and monitoring of HPB’s strategic plan and systematising organisational knowledge in health promotion to promote health and control major public health conditions among the population in Singapore & demonstrate HPB’s thought leadership in health promotion locally and internationally.

Strategic Planning & Collaborations develops and monitors the strategic plans for HPB, and oversees strategic alignment of HPB’s roles and responsibilities across the Whole-of-Government to achieve better health and well-being for all Singaporeans. The department also drives the thought leadership and positioning of the HPB in international platforms and to the World Health Organization (WHO).

 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead in the formulation of medium-long term range strategic plans for national health promotion in consultation with HPB’s Leadership Group
  • Engage and influence relevant stakeholders to ensure various business strategies, and execution plans in HPB are aligned with the overarching national direction in preventive health
  • Ensure effective monitoring of the corporate and business execution so as to achieve better health and well-being for Singaporeans
  • Provide and drive the platforms and evidence base to facilitate setting of strategy direction and policy-making
  • Establish collaborative networks with relevant key partners for formulation of healthy public policies, and with researchers and knowledge institutions locally and regionally to share best practices and advance HPB’s thought leadership in health promotion

 

Key Competencies

  • Qualifications in Social Sciences, Public Health , Business Administration or related disciplines
  • Preferably with at least 10 years of working experience in public health/health promotion, strategy planning or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to engage & influence stakeholders with a dynamic & collaborative style
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Demonstrated managerial & leadership skills needed to manage a department of mid-career staff within a dynamic environment.
