Management of used water network in Singapore is key in safeguarding public health and water resources. Used water is also a water resource. By collecting every drop of used water and ensuring every drop is fit for recycling, NEWater is produced as a sustainable source of supply to meet Singapore‚Äôs water demand.  

You will be part of the team responsible to monitor and operate this delicate and intrinsically complex network. As an process controller in the Network Management Branch, you will play a key role in facilitating the operations of the used water network systems. In the process, you will learn to appreciate the intricacies of the network and partake in an important role towards water sustainability. Your main roles and responsibilities might include:

  • Carry out surveillance to identify construction activities near major sewerage infrastructure
  • Carry out duties to support construction surveillance and enforcement works
  • Execute and supervise operations and maintenance programmes
  • Supervise maintenance related works carried out by contractors to ensure compliance with contract specifications and requirements
  • Monitor and supervise works along the DTSS alignment and construction sites to ensure compliance with Policies, Acts, COP and statutory requirements.
  • Explore and implement initiatives on applicable technologies to enhance protection and inspection of major sewerage infrastructure
  • Engage with stakeholders during surveillance and maintenance works to ensure minimal service disruption and inconvenience to affected customers
  • Perform activities safely based on SOPs and requirements to identify inflows / infiltrations / conductivity spikes in the used water
  • Supervise maintenance related works carried out by contractors to ensure compliance with contract specifications and requirements
  • Carry out administrative duties for maintenance contracts according to contract specifications and requirements
  • Handle customer feedback cases and record case details
  • Activate field teams to attend or reassign to other dept/agency
  • Provide information and instruction to the field teams
  • Monitor CINDY for cases assigned to WRN and monitor Level Sensor system and VOC meter systems
  • Alert supervisors when there are issues
  • Any other admin duties assigned by supervisors

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering or 5 years of work experience in construction surveillance and enforcement work
  • Independent, result-oriented and self-driven team player.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and possess a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications.
  • Class 3 or 3A driving license
