As an Engineer for the Catchment and Waterways Department’s Reservoir Operations division, your main roles and responsibilities would include but not limited to:

  • Oversee a team of technical staff to manage the operations and maintenance of reservoirs and the stormwater collection facilities 
  • Supervise a team of technical staff to carry out surveillance and enforcement against illegal activities in reservoirs
  • Administer and manage the reservoir maintenance contracts for the reservoirs, water storage infrastructures and stormwater collection facilities  
  • Manage resources to  attend to public feedback
  • Process cases of offences including liaising with Regulatory Unit and Legal Department
  • Coordinate with relevant divisions/departments/agencies on water pollution matters
  • Manage activities in the reservoir and reservoir ground
  • Track operating and maintenance expenditure
  • Implement safety measures
  • Prepare appropriate and timely reports on operations and maintenance incidences

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent  
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in managing teams 
  • Able to respond to urgent situations outside normal working hours on short notice
  • Able to attend to work on weekends and after office hours when required
  • Independent, result-oriented and self-driven team player
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract management skills
