The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is a new Statutory Board formed under the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) to oversee food safety and security. The SFA will serve as the single point of contact for public feedback on food-related issues, and strengthen management of foodborne disease outbreaks to protect public health.

The SFA will also facilitate more business-friendly regulations with oversight of all food safety policies and consolidation of food laboratory capabilities to deepen competencies in food diagnostics, and research and development in food safety.


You will report to the Agency Chief Information Security Officer and assist to formulate and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures for SFA.


  • Ensure SFA’s ICT system are secured with appropriate risk assessments through working closely with systems developers, testers and users to conduct security review and penetration testing to ensure compliance with the Whole-of-Government and SFA standards. 

  • Keep abreast of the latest cybersecurity best practices and technologies in the industry as well as the emerging threats and vulnerabilities and on this front, recommend appropriate controls or mitigations to improve cybersecurity postures.

  • Promote cybersecurity awareness in SFA through training and provide cybersecurity advice to internal ICT teams and SFA stakeholders.

  • Implement and manage cybersecurity measures, perform user access review and operational tasks and update processes to prevent any unauthorised access, manage the organisation’s security incident response and oversee the updating of the standard operating procedures of various cybersecurity incidents.


  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in information security of security-related activities such as audit, governance or compliance.

  • Strong technical and domain knowledge on network, application and operating systems security, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, incident management and IoT security.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be adept in vendor risk management, user access management, business continuity planning and incident response management.

  • Preferably with CISSP, CISA or CISM certifications.


  • Good conceptualization skills with ability to drive initiatives.

  • Strong management skills 

  • Ability to contextualise technical concepts to general users

  • Good presentation, writing skills and problem-solving skills
