Singapore Customs is a government agency under the Ministry of Finance. Re-constituted on 1 April 2003, Singapore Customs is the lead agency on trade facilitation and revenue enforcement matters. It is also responsible for the implementation of customs and trade enforcement measures including those related to Free Trade Agreements and strategic goods.

Responsibilities

As an Officer of Customs, you will support Senior Officers to make trade easy, fair and secure. As part of our officers’ growth and development policy, you will have the unique opportunity to undergo job rotation to experience a wide spectrum of our core Customs operational functions throughout your entire career, which include: Intelligence and Investigation, Checkpoints, Compliance, Trade, Policy and Planning.

The duties of an Officer of Customs include:

  1. Implement and enforce legislations under Customs’ purview to assure the integrity of the trading system and promote Singapore as a global trade hub
  2. Process permit, certificate and licence applications
  3. Collect customs revenue and GST on imported and excisable goods
  4. Conduct surveillance and investigations to suppress duty evasion and syndicate smuggling

Retention Bonus

You will receive attractive retention payouts starting from your 2nd or 4th year of service ranging from $4,000 to $10,000.
