Services Group collaborates closely with stakeholders from across the government to ensure that newly-developed digital services answer the needs of their users. We work with agencies to aggregate and deliver useful central ICT needs. At Standard Products, we are a unit based in HQ that focuses on the ideas of rapid prototyping, product ownership and continuous learning.
 
As Deputy Director, Standard Products, you will be responsible for providing vision, direction and leadership in using technology innovatively via AI, Machine Learning and a data-driven approach so as to deliver central products and solutions for pervasive adoption by GovTech-managed agencies.
 
What to Expect:
  • Lead a team of 15-20 product managers to identify, conceptualize and develop business strategy and business cases for standard products 
  • Engage with stakeholders and management to seek approval to proceed with procurement and development of products
  • Responsible for acquiring funding and budget for products development 
  • Lead the team to develop specification and manage the whole procurement process of tendering to award of contract
  • Lead the team in the product implementation, on-boarding of agencies and continuous enhancements of the products through roadmap prioritization and users engagement
  • Responsible for the business model formulation and P&L of the products suite
  • Lead the team in the continuous engagement with agencies to create awareness of product suite, participating in various forums and agencies’ management meetings
  • Set goals, provide directions and guidance to the team to ensure they meet their targets/KPIs, aligning to organization’s objectives
  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of processes and people
  • Provide accurate and constant reporting to senior management on progress of products development
  • Constantly explore emerging technologies and products to address current users’ pain points
  • Involve and contribute to cross departments and organization’s wide initiatives and strategic planning
  • Ensure operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies
 
 
How to Succeed:
  • Strong Project Management (full system development life cycle) experience of large scale projects
  • At least 20 years of relevant IT experience, inclusive of 7 years’ experience in planning, leading and managing projects, programmes, change and contract
  • Strong technical fundamentals with demonstrated working knowledge and experience in ICT solutions and technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in product management from market evaluation, product planning and definition, to development and operations
  • Pro-active, dynamic and customer-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively influence the senior management and non-technical audience
  • Strong analytical/conceptual-thinking and team interaction/effectiveness skills
