Director, Consumer Services & Investigation 



  • Oversee and develop the operational arm of the Personal Data Protection Commission in enforcing the Data Protection (DP) and Do Not Call (DNC) framework effectively.  

  • Provide guidance to investigators and managing the conduct and progress of investigations in DP and DNC cases 

  • Provide guidance to investigators in evaluation of evidence, analysis of legal and policy issues, and shaping the recommendations on the outcome of the case 

  • Provide guidance to investigators in presentation of case analysis and conducting case discussions with Commissioner, Executive Chairman Data Protection Advisory Committee and Deputy Commissioner 

  • Assist Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner in making a decision on cases and shaping the directions to be issued to organisation concerned 

  • Assist Deputy Commissioner in settling the terms of the grounds of decision and directions to organisations  

  • Implement and develop the various enforcement policies and measures under the Active Enforcement Framework  

  • Develop and implement a mediation framework and an online dispute resolution system to manage the resolution of complaints that are not identified for investigations by PDPC 

  • Lead, plan, execute and complete projects/initiatives in relation to the Commission to build a trusted environment for businesses and consumers. 

  • Direct the operational activities of the investigations arm of the Commission, including providing guidance to investigations, case tracking, investigation processes & timelines, 

  • Lead in monitoring and identifying trends and new technology affecting the enforcement of the Personal Data Protection Act. 

  • Oversee project teams to develop and maintain advisories/ guides, with inputs from experts and external stakeholders, relating to the implementation and use of technical systems/solutions that complies with the data protection framework. 

  • Lead and provide guidance to project teams in formulating and proposing strategies and initiatives for industry engagement and development of data protection technologies and solutions. 



  • At least 15 years of experience with at least 8 years’ experience in a senior management role, with a proven track record of relevant experience in a regulatory or operations environment. 

  • Relevant training in enforcement or investigations preferred.  

  • Good understanding of Personal Data Protection framework. 

  • Experienced in operational matters, including areas on project management, case management, resource prioritisation and customer handling. 

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 

  • Ability to self-direct and prioritise among competing goals and exhibit flexibility in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to different stakeholders. 

Position will commensurate with experience.
