KidSTART was introduced as a three-year pilot programme in 2016 to provide upstream support to children (aged 0-6) from low-income families in the areas of childhood development, health and social service. As we prepare to expand into new regions over the next few years, the Ministry of Social and Family Development is setting up a dedicated agency to implement the KidSTART programme and deepen partnerships between the community and Government to give these children a good start in life.

Description of Division/Branch:

 

You will be part of the Partnership and Communications team to work with corporates and individuals to foster deeper and more sustained giving relationships with KidSTART children and families under the Growing Together with KidSTART initiative. The team will oversee the planning and reviewing of donation/volunteer/partnership efforts, reporting on impact, identifying new/emerging needs on the ground through data tracking and analysis, developing and disseminating content across various communication channels to help educate our internal and external audiences about KidSTART, and managing media queries.

In order to achieve the above, the team will have to be plugged into KidSTART’s work in the community, work closely with other branches in the organisation, build stakeholder and media networks, and work closely with Community Chest Singapore in the engagement of corporate/individual partners.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective publicity material
  • Develop and execute strategic campaigns and communication initiatives for KidSTART
  • Gather testimonials and develop case studies
  • Develop content (write copy) for programme campaigns, programme materials, social media posts, corporate blog, website, press releases, newsletters, email campaigns, and other cross channel communications to raise awareness about KidSTART and our work
  • Maintain quality of content for online and offline platforms
  • Promote KidSTART at various events (e.g. Corporate CSR sessions to recruit volunteers or attract sponsors)
  • Generate impact reports (Insights/operations/data analysis) from consolidated database for management and KPI reporting to stakeholders
  • Provide business insights to improve future marketing strategies and campaigns, and reporting progress to management and stakeholders
  • Oversee and manage the publicity and comms budget

 

Competencies

Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience working on projects in the field of marketing, communications, or public relations
  • Experience with impact reporting and business/data analytics
  • Ability to stay abreast of latest trends and innovations for delivering marketing content and impact reporting

Generic Competencies

  • A proactive and highly motivated individual with a passion for serving less advantaged families and young children who may require additional support
  • Excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills and ability to engage and influence different stakeholders
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS office suite and intermediate Photoshop skills
