You will be part of the KidSTART Capability Development Branch, tasked to ensure the delivery of specialised training programmes for KidSTART CLG staff, KidSTART practitioners from preschools, Social Service Agencies, hospitals, partner agencies and individual and corporate volunteers as well as community partners such as SSOs, FSCs and grassroots agencies. This involves identifying, conceptualising and developing training specifications across the early childhood development, parenting, social support and health domains. Beyond the organisation and delivery of training programmes inhouse, as part of the process, you will also identify, engage, screen and procure suitable training providers/vendors and consultants, to conduct training, best practice sessions and develop training and educational resources to a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to provide child-centric support.


Brief description of Job Scope:

To facilitate and support the training needs of CLG staff, KidSTART practitioners from across the different sectors and volunteers by organizing inhouse training programmes, procuring suitable vendors to deliver the required training, as well as develop suitable training material for KidSTART practitioners and educational resources for KidSTART families.


  • Support the Consultant and Lead Trainer in organising and coordinating the delivery of training sessions to KidSTART practitioners and volunteers, including registration of participants, preparation of training notes and material and booking of venues
  • Conduct briefings to key stakeholders to promote KidSTART and importance of the early years. Develop vendor specifications based on training needs and put up required documents to procure suitable vendors through relevant procurement processes
  • Facilitate the selection of vendors through the analysis and assessment of proposals submitted
  • Identify, engage and collaborate with a range of training providers across the early childhood, social service and health sectors
  • Coordinate and collate data and feedback on effectiveness of training programmes
    • Maintain a data base of trainees for each respective training programme
    • Maintain data of training evaluation for respective programmes
    • Maintain quality of content for online and offline platforms
  • Work with Programme Leads to coordinate the content and develop the procurement specifications required for vendors to produce suitable training programmes, material/resources for staff, practitioners/volunteers, as well as educational resources for families
  • Support the ongoing reviews on the impact and effectiveness of training programmes delivered


Competencies required:

Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Development, Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or equivalent
  • Possess sound assessment skills on the training needs of KidSTART practitioners to ascertain the intensity and customisation of training required
  • Knowledge and skills in writing up training vendor specifications and procurement processes
  • Excellent IT skills and experience in setting up equipment for training

Generic Competencies

  • An interest in training and knowledge in facilitating training sessions
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders, government agencies
