Description of Division/Group:

The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) provides services for the rehabilitation of adult and juvenile offenders and the protection of children and families. We are passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of these children, youths and families and are looking for like-minded individuals who share the same passion as us to join our dynamic and life- changing team.

As part of the RPG family, the Probation and Community Rehabilitation Service (PCRS) provides effective rehabilitation of offenders on community-based orders with maximum participation of families and the community.


Brief description of Job Scope:

Reporting to the Chief Probation Officer, the individual is required to support 5-year strategic plans PCRS is embarking in 2020 with the support of Consultants.



The role will include the following:

•    Support strategic planning work of the team by harnessing data to review, innovate and strengthen the current policies on community-based rehabilitation;  

•    Engage internal and external stakeholders within RPG and the criminal justice system (such as the judiciary, law enforcement, social services, education and health sectors) to ensure relevance in programme and process evaluations;

•    Undertake literature review and in-depth analysis of emerging trends and work with Consultants and PCRS team to propose strategies to address them;

•    Help better position the role of probation in the wider criminal justice system, taking into account offending context at individual levels, organizational priorities and a review of probation effectiveness in breaking cycles of offending.


Competencies required:

  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and able to adapt quickly to evolving situations Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is self-directed and able to work well in a team
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
