Description of Group:

The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) provides services for the rehabilitation of adult and juvenile offenders and the protection of children and families. We are passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of these children, youths and families and are looking for like-minded individuals who share the same passion as us to join our dynamic and life-changing team.

Description of Division/Branch:

The Central Youth Guidance Office (CYGO) is an inter-ministry setup comprising officers seconded from MOE, MHA and MSF. We look into early intervention strategies to prevent youth-at-risk from committing crime. As the central co-coordinating agency, we keep an overview of the programmes and services for the youth-at-risk and look into addressing the gaps.

Brief Description of Job Scope:

As an officer in the Central Youth Guidance Office (CYGO), you will work with various partners to formulate strategies to prevent youth-at-risk from committing crime.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, review and implement information management policies related to work on youth-at-risk offending and re-offending issues, within MSF and across Ministries.
  • Maintain CYGO’s data system as data administrator. 
  • Conceptualise research and evaluation studies, manage the progress of these studies, and report and translate findings for policy and application.
  • Request for, clean and analyse data, to distil useful insights for policy and application.
  • Conduct literature review for emerging youth offending issues.
  • Provide consultation on research and statistical matters to our stakeholders and partners.
  • Support the National Committee on Prevention, Rehabilitation and Recidivism (NCPR) secretariat and the SkillsFuture Tripartite Taskforce on Youth Work secretariat.

Competencies Required:

  • Tertiary qualification
  • Relevant experience in policy, data analysis and/or research
  • Relevant experience in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) and data analytical tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Python)
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly and succinctly
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

 

The successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract.
