Safe Distancing Deputy Lead

Job Description

  • Enforcement of Safe Distancing Measures applicable to businesses such as F&B establishments and backpacker hostels at various locations under URA’s charge.
  • The role of the Deputy Lead is to supervise a team of Safe Distancing Enforcement Officers (SDEOs) tasked with investigating breaches of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations and make recommendations to the Lead Enforcement Officer.
  • Besides investigations, the deputy lead will be involved in the planning of operations and provide guidance to the team on the enforcement action, reports and investigation papers.
  • This would be a public facing role, with the officer required to spend time outdoors in the areas they are deployed to.

Requirements

  • Minimally a diploma in any discipline. In the alternative, candidates without a diploma should possess at least 3 years of enforcement related experience. Experienced candidates with supervisory experiences may be considered favourably.
  • Preferably candidates with enforcement background, and who are comfortable in a public-facing role and using the computer.
  • Candidates would also be required to understand the legislation and elements to establish offences, as well as the resourcefulness and ability in obtaining and assessing evidence. The enforcement officer should also possess the capability to engage and manage potential offenders in a service-oriented manner. Ability to write and analyse information will be required, as the officer is required to handle appeal cases and conduct investigations.
  • Possess good verbal communication and people skills.
  • Good analytical, writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Good investigation skills, have eyes for details and self-driven  
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team is a must
  • Candidates are required to be on their feet several hours at a time; candidates from non-vulnerable group preferred.
  • Willing to commit to work including weekends and public holidays where necessary.
