Senior Specialist, Lead Data Engineer London
The Senior Specialist Data Engineer is responsible for the modelling, manipulation, transformation and loading of the Data Lake technology layers. The role will build knowledge of all data resources within Newday and prototype new data sources internally and external to Newday. Building a knowledge of all existing data manipulation within both data warehouse systems and within the business marts. The Senior Specialist Data Engineer will design and code data transformation and load processes through the various layers of the Data Lake using Big Data open technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Scala and associated AWS tooling.  The role will own all of the Data Content, manipulation, business rules and associated processes within this new environment. The Senior Data Engineer will work within the Data Engineering team to deliver a high volume, performant environment, structured to enable the Data Science roles to run modelling and insight activity and the core Data Warehouse users to build insight. The role will work with the business units to become a subject matter expert on the data within Newday to facilitate the work of the data scientists and data warehouse users and reduce their work load in data preparation. The role will prototype new data sources and data models as required.  The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that a strong data map is in place for the Data Lake, keeping abreast of all data sources and future sources of information, storage and ETL capabilities in Hadoop and all associated ‘Big Data’ technologies, AWS cloud technology advances, and recommending and testing the latest versions and products.   The role will be a champion of our CI/CD approach to development within an Agile framework.
Specialist, End User Computing London
Provision of a first class End User Support service.  Advocate and owner of the end user services, including devices (laptops, desktops, thin clients), services (VC, AV, conference services, meeting room booking systems, asset management) and software (SEP, Sharepoint, O365, Outlook, AD, licencing, software renewals, third party user software) ensuring high availability and performance, provide input and support to the business, working as part of the End User Computing Team.
Senior Specialist, Data Engineer London
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for working with the existing data insights teams to design and build production grade data applications, including machine learning solutions, to monetise NewDay’s data resources. The Senior Data Engineer will work with other Data Engineers, Front-End Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver secure, performant and maintainable data applications using continuous integration and continuous deployment methodologies. The successful applicant will develop ETL and ML pipelines as well as APIs to productionise existing data applications and develop new ones. They will champion good code quality and development practices. The role holder will work with the existing business organisations insight teams, Data Scientists, I.T infrastructure teams, and key data suppliers such as BI and Data Warehouse.

Specialist, Conduct & Operational Risk, Governance & Reporting London
The Governance & Reporting Specialist’s primary focus will be to support the Conduct and Operational Risk Team in running key committees including collation and production of committee packs and creating reporting that includes conduct risk metrics on a monthly basis. There will also be opportunity to assist with risk-based monitoring/testing across NewDay’s Commercial and Operational functions and will include fact finding for reviews against the 1LoD Monitoring Plan.
