Veterinary Nurse II - Small Animal Surgery Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated Small Animal Surgery team. Though there are many responsibilities of someone in the role, the primary responsibilities are to assist in providing quality veterinary patient care and help with procedures for client, teaching, and research animals within the VHC. Director of Events Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking applicants for an Events Director who will be responsible for the development and execution of all events hosted at the College level for the CVM, including several high-profile and annual events. This position coordinates all aspects of the events, evaluates their effectiveness and reports to the Dean and Assistant Dean to ensure the events implemented align with the College’s strategic event plan. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the management of best practices for event space usage. The Director serves as a vital member of the College and a resource within the College to ensure that all events deliver a high quality experience and add value to the College. The Director is responsible for hiring, training, and managing event staff and events volunteers. The Director also approves all events requested within the CVM by faculty, staff and students.
Community Coordinator Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Community Coordinator (anticipated vacancies) provides leadership and supervision for a multicultural population of 250 to 650 students within the residence halls or the Jardine Apartments. The coordinator’s primary function is to direct and oversee the operations of residential communities. This position may involve the staffing and supervision of 5-18 resident assistants or residential learning assistants and 0-3 graduate assistant coordinators. The CC is the primary leader within their community for student conduct proceedings and student success and retention initiatives. Duties include student development, training, advising student groups, facilities management, professional development, administrative and managerial responsibilities. The CC assesses, contributes to and oversees the implementation and enhancement of student learning outside the classroom through programmatic opportunities. Additionally, the CC engages in and facilitates conversations around equity and inclusion with student staff and peers. This position is supervised by an Area Coordinator.

The position also oversees the business operations of four departments and two centers. Marshall County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent Other On-site requirement
Marshall County is in north-central Kansas and has a population of 10,000 people and a thriving agricultural community. This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming may include but is not limited to: agronomy; livestock production; agricultural economics, management, and public policy; horticultural production and management; and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship. Marshall County's agriculture is diversified with row crops that include wheat, corn, soybeans, milo, and feed crops. The county’s primary livestock is beef cow-calf and grower operations. Marshall County is also home to a large and active 4-H youth development program.

Assistant Professor Quantitative Genetics Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is seeking an Assistant Professor, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position with 80% research and 20% teaching appointment, to develop a strong, innovative research and teaching program in theoretical Quantitative Genetics with focus on developing novel statistical and quantitative modeling approaches to genomic and phenomic data collected in crop genetics and breeding programs. This position will apply these models for understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying variation in major agronomic traits, including but not limited to crop adaptation and productivity, and apply these models for predictive breeding to accelerate development of improved crop varieties. This position will be expected to collaborate with crop breeding, genomics, and phenomics teams to apply machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to leverage large-scale datasets for mechanistic understanding and trait prediction under changing environments. This position is expected to develop collaborative ties to programs across departmental and college boundaries. The incumbent will develop new courses for graduate students in application of advanced modeling approaches, including machine learning and AI, to crop improvement. The incumbent will develop graduate level courses to support the teaching mission of the Department of Agronomy, Interdepartmental Genetics Program, and College of Agriculture in the area of quantitative genetics. The developed courses will provide training opportunities for graduate students in one or more of the following areas: 1) crop quantitative genetics, 2) application of AI-based methods to crop genetics and breeding, 3) modeling crop genotypes, development, and physiology in relationship to the target selection environment.
