Have you ever wondered how you can help in times of a disaster?
Anglicare Disaster Recovery (ADR) volunteers have the opportunity to:
• respond with Christian care to people impacted by disasters
• provide general support and material aid in evacuation centres and participate in community outreach
• make a genuine difference in local communities
• enjoy a sense of teamwork and learn new skills
ADR volunteers are invited to semi-annual meetings and a yearly refresher training. Participation in evacuation centres and community outreach is as-needed and subject to your availability to respond.
If this sounds like a volunteer opportunity you would be interested in, the first step would be to register for a New Recruit Training day and see what it is all about.
We offer training days at various locations and dates throughout the year. Reasonable travel to trainings may be reimbursed and training materials and lunch is provided.
After attending a New Recruit training day, if you decide ADR is for you, we will process your paperwork and background checks. If successful, you will receive an official ID badge and become part of your local team.
