Current NIH-funded projects include brain circuitry mapping for sleep disorder narcolepsy and sleep-related therapies for Alzheimer’s disease. Novel genetic tools such as optogenetics, chemogenetics, and in vivo Calcium imaging are applied to current research. Candidates who have a strong background in neuroscience or sleep neurobiology are encouraged to apply. The candidates will be expected to perform animal breeding and surgeries, record sleep and neuronal signals, data analysis, and write manuscripts. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, goal-oriented, independent, and should serve as an integral member of our scientific team. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or the ability to defend their dissertation within one month of their time of application.
