MUHA EA32 - Registered Nurse II - Neonatal Nurseries Charleston, SC, Charleston, SC-Main Campus, Children's Hospital, Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital
The 66 bed Neonatal Intensive and Intermediate Care Units are located in our Children's Hospital. The MUSC NICU is the regional referral center for this area, providing care to premature and sick neonates. The average daily census is 66. The Neonatal ICUs provides medical and surgical care with most common diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, and neonatal surgical conditions. In addition to respiratory and nutritional support, the NICUs provide ECMO/CRRT and surgical support. Pediatric Palliative care is available as needed. Two units located on the 8th floor of Children's Hospital include the 27 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the 9 bed Special Care Nursery. The 29 bed Level 2 Nursery is adjacent to Labor and Delivery on the 5th floor of MUSC's Main Hospital. The NICU also supports an infant home monitoring program for infants requiring monitoring upon discharge. All NICU beds are monitored beds. The Director of Operations/finance for Oncology System, under general supervision of the Oncology Service line Administrator and Oncology Network Medical Director, will integrate the network operations with the MUSC Service line to help create an integrated care delivery and economic system. This position will supervise the business operations of the Oncology service line as well as joint venture oncology relationships for MUSC. This position will manage the professional services agreement (PSA)with the Hematology and oncology . This position reviews and monitors all financial activities, goals/metrics of the network and acts as liaison between MUSC and Affiliate sites. Will manage the relationship with the MUSC Health/Alliance JV and its contracting with our Radiation Oncology affiliates.

This position reviews and verifies all payment methods available (insurance, self-pay, agency) and patient/insurance information. This role works with patients to set up payment arrangements and to arrange/apply for assistance programs. The Patient Access Services Representative assists in collecting copayments and deductibles, and solves basic billing inquiries.

The Accountant II in Hospital Fiscal Services reports to the Accounting Manager. The Accountant II performs professional accounting duties supporting MUHA’s monthly and fiscal year-end financial reporting and the annual external audit; general ledger accounting specific to ongoing account reviews, analyses and reconciliations; regularly interacts with organization wide finance personnel; and performs a variety of other associated administrative duties in support of departmental operations. Minimum Training and Education: A bachelor's degree in a business-related field and three (3) years work experience in a business related area such as accounting, business, audit or finance. Strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Outlook software; Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat software is a plus. Preferred: A bachelor's degree in accounting with hospital/healthcare based work experience; MBA, MHA, CHFP or CPA designation a plus.
