Job Summary/Purpose: The Certified Pharmacy Technician reports to the Pharmacy Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Certified Pharmacy Technician provides technical support to the drug distribution activities of the Department of Pharmacy Services.

Minimum Training and Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and one year of pharmacy technician work experience required; graduation of an ASHP Accredited Training Program may be substituted for one year experience.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained.
