Job Summary/Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst will provide assistance to the Director of Business Initiatives with strategic planning and corporate initiatives and to assist the MUSC Physicians (MUSCP) Chief Financial Officer with financial analysis of MUSCP operations, financial projections, new service proposals, and financial reporting issues. This position is also responsible for supporting the health system-wide funds flow initiative and coordinating the physician productivity and equity reporting, as it relates, to the Faculty Compensation Initiative. This position is responsible for ongoing analysis of health care business intelligence information, obtained from a variety of sources, including financial and demographic data. It involves development and preparation of information. It requires the ability to analyze health care business intelligence data from conceptualization through presentation. It requires proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service.

Minimum Training and Education: 

Bachelors Degree with at least 2 years' experience in a physician practice environment required; Masters' degree a plus. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Access. Prior physician practice, health care consulting experience a plus. Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data required. Familiarity with various types and sources of health care business intelligence information, including financial and patient-level data files.

Indirect supervision with ability to work within established protocol to meet required work completion time frames. Must be dependable in both attendance and production.

 

Physical Requirements:

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40   vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing 20 lbs (+/-) unassisted. Lift from 36" to overhead 15 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
