Job Summary/Purpose: Reporting to the MUSC Health Controller, the Director has oversight responsibility for incoming revenues, receivables and amounts due to, including cash, bank draft, electronic funds transfer and stock/securities transfers. This role is responsible for assuring the proper accounting and documentation of incoming receipts. The Director ensures that all transactions are properly coded to allow for accurate and complete financial reporting for audit purposes, internal/external financial statements, state and federal tax compliance and regulatory reporting.  Oversight of MUSC Health investments in accordance with the investment policy statements of the various entities in MUSC Health to maximize returns.  This position is also responsible for the accurate and timely filing of all required tax returns for all the various entities in MUSC Health.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of seven (7) years accounting experience with a minimum two (2 years management experience in a complex Health System required.  Licensed CPA or an Enrolled Agent.  Experience in cash receipts, accounts receivable, GAAP, period-end closing procedures, Financial Statement review and preparation, audits and tax compliance.  Knowledge of Fund Accounting, financial accounting and reporting systems, GAAP and FASB standards, federal and state tax regulations, financial reporting requirements for non-profit organizations, internal control standards and procedures, and fiduciary responsibility for Foundation officials.  Ability to work with minimal supervision.  Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Access.
