Job summary: Postdoctoral fellow to work full-time on projects focused on the study of enzymes involved in the post-translational modification and regulation of cellular target proteins by ubiquitin and ubiquitin-like proteins.  Broadly, the goal of this research is to understand the molecular mechanisms by which the ubiquitin pathway functions to maintain homeostasis in humans and how dysregulation of enzymes in these pathways leads to disease states. These issues will be addressed primarily using X-ray crystallography complemented with biochemical and biophysical techniques.  Ideal candidates will have experience in protein crystallization, X-ray data collection, and structure determination, and/or the biochemical analysis of protein ubiquitination.
