Job Summary/Purpose: The Radiology Manager reports to a MUSC Health Director of Radiology.  Under limited supervision, the Radiology Manager effectively manages the clinical operations of specific areas and/or modalities of the MUHA Radiology Department at all facilities including, but not limited to, equipment, personnel, scheduling, financial and customer service functions. This role participates in MUHA and/or MUSC Physicians strategic planning including the expansion or addition of new Radiology services and/or the consolidation of existing services.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree in one of the Radiologic Sciences, management, business, basic science, or allied health related field required; Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, M.S.) in related management, basic science and/or related field preferred and Graduate of an approved clinical program in Radiologic Science with National licensure, registration, and/or certification (ARRT, CNMT, RDMS) highly preferred. A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in Radiology Services preferably in an academic teaching hospital setting; or seven (7) years of relevant healthcare/clinical managerial experience in administrative services, a Radiologic regulatory agency, public administration or healthcare business management required.  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, radiologic business acumen and team organizational/leadership skills and project development and implementation skills required.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: ARRT, SCRQSA if applicable.

(Infrequent) Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. (Frequent) Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
