Job Summary/PurposeThe Courier Operations Associate reports to the Courier Operations Program Coordinator.  Under general supervision, the Courier Operations Associate is responsible for courier transport and dispatching services for the MUHA Courier Operations Department.  This role is the front line of communication and interaction with the department’s internal and external customers.

Minimum Training and Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required and one year minimum in customer service work experience. One year minimum courier and/or dispatch experience preferred.  Valid South Carolina driver’s license in good standing is required at time of employment and must be maintained.  Familiarity of Charleston area is a must.  Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required.  Experience with Microsoft Outlook email and smartphone communication and navigation applications required. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Valid South Carolina driver’s license in good standing is required at time of employment and must be maintained.

(Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Must be able to perform gross motor skills with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to perform 'pinching' operations. (Infrequent) Ability to fully use both hands/arms. (Continuous) Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders. (Frequent) Ability to fully use both hands/arms.(Frequent) Ability to reach in all directions.(Frequent) Possess good finger dexterity.(Frequent) Good peripheral vision capabilities.
