Job Summary/Purpose: The Transplant Navigator Assistant/Living Donor reports to the Transplant Programs Manager. Under limited supervision of the Living Donor Coordinator, the Transplant Navigator Assistant interfaces with patients/families undergoing a transplant evaluation in clinic and promotes living donation. Outside of clinic, this role assists potential living donors through the workup process. This position supports the physician outreach department by representing and promoting MUSC clinical services and program in order to increase volume growth and referring physician base, as well as improve customer relationships with key and potentially new referring physicians.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor Degree in health or business and two years of related work experience. Extensive knowledge of living donor transplantation. Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other health care disciplines and understanding of the consultative process.  Must maintain the highest standard of professional conduct.  Maintain confidentiality.  Extensive knowledge of office management, policies and practices in a complex environment.  Strong interpersonal skills to include exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.  Must be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to rapidly prioritize/reprioritize as necessary.  A working knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification in Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.  Thereafter, must maintain Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
