Job Summary/Purpose: The Corporate Accountant in Hospital Fiscal Services reports to the Accounting Manager. The Corporate Accountant serves as a Liaison between MUHA Corporate and MUHA’s Regional Hospitals and performs professional accounting duties supporting MUHA's corporate monthly and fiscal year-end financial reporting and the annual external audit; assists in preparation of consolidated financial statements; performs corporate General Ledger accounting specific to ongoing account reviews, analyses and reconciliations; monitors and interprets accounting literature and guidance to ensure that MUHA’s accounting policies and treatments are in compliance with GAAP, GASB and applicable state and federal regulations; regularly interacts with organization wide finance personnel; and performs a variety of other associated duties in support of departmental operations.

Minimum Training and Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business and four (4) years work experience in accounting and/or auditing. Strong analytical, research, communication and teamwork skills, ability to meet deadlines, a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Outlook software; Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat software is a plus.

Preferred: A bachelor's degree in accounting with hospital/healthcare based work experience; CPA, MBA, MHA, or CHFP designation a plus.
