Job Duties:
10Budget - Work with the Director of Development to prepare budget documents for submission to CHF board and internal leadership including the Chairman of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Medical Director/ICEE leader.Essential
20Special Event Support – Coordinate data entry of all credit card pledges for the CHF special events with MUSCF gift processing. Recommend and implement changes and modifications as needed. Maintain spreadsheet for internal counting of all pledges. Implement use of RE reporting to manage pledges. Utilize Greater Giving or similar software for accurate tracking of gifts from donors including auction items, which includes cash, checks and credit cards. Provide financial management for the Children’s Hospital Fund special events. Investigate best practices to evaluate processes for improvement and implement recommendations. Serve on the Special Event Task force. Responsible for working with MUSCF to implement recommended process changes in order to gain efficiencies.Essential
30Financial Reporting – Create standard and customized reports of philanthropic and private support progress. Provide staff with analytical reports detailing gifts on a monthly basis or more frequently as needed. Create financial reports – both income and expense reports as well as cash balances for CHF projects including the SJCH building fund and other restricted gifts/programs. Assist with reconciliation of RE reports and Foundation financial edge reports to reconcile balances on all CHF funds. Prepare Board financial reports as well as generate any gift reports for tracking revenue and expenses within the CHF office, including income and expense reports and cash flow reports. Responsible for accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all reporting activities. Manage the quarterly review of the financial reports. Create reports for Director of Development and Board Chairman of Finance Consolidate financial reports, design and produce monthly financial and year-end reports, perform analysis. Ensure compliance with all relevant MUSC regulations and restrictions. Compile data and prepare operational and financial reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations for the CHF’s fundraising activities. Review, analyze and prepare year-end summaries of income statements for all fund codes for Children’s Hospital Fund and various board requests and executive leadership requests. Prepare income statements for various special events for Children’s Hospital Fund. Monitor and report on financial performance of these events and return on investment (ROI). Make recommendations based on the analysis of these events. Oversee implementation of recommendations. Coordinate and develop year-end projections for transfer of funds to Department of Pediatrics and Children’s Hospital.Essential
35Financial Accounting - Analyze and reconcile monthly financial statements to determine proper processing of revenues and expenses by fund code, in accordance with University and MUSCF policies and procedures. Prepare weekly CHF Check Requests and maintain income and expense reports for all CHF expenses and grants/transfers made, including all vendor payments due, transfers of funds and operating expenses. Monitor, verify and review fund code balances for transfer of funds to the Department of Pediatrics and Children’s Hospital as well as the SJCH building fund. Prepare funds report detailing restricted and unrestricted gifts for use by the CHF for the fiscal year. Facilitate any entries in R\E to correct any errors in financial statements on a monthly basis with the assistance of advancement services and the MUSC Foundation. Create and mail out invoices/pledge reminders to donors for pledges/gifts made at an event or as a major or annual gift. Maintain liaison between CHF office and the MUSCF to ensure all donations are recorded and allocated to the proper revenue fund codes in a timely manner. Provide management of all financial reporting for the Children’s Hospital Fund office. Track all CHF giving through the RE database software to ensure accuracy and financial reporting to the CHF advisory board and donors whom request reports.Understand the various methods and technologies for processing gifts at CHF and how each interfaces with the Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge systems and the CHF project accounts. Prepare all checks for MUSCF gift entry and follow up to make sure the MUSCF placed the funds in the correct fund. Monitor daily gift transmittals provided by the MUSCF to ensure gifts were placed in the correct accounts. Process charitable gifts to the CHF, including assigning gifts to appropriate funds, and creating both new expendable and endowment funds. This requires interaction with faculty, the MUSC Foundation and appropriate offices within the MUSC. On a daily basis, monitor, import, review, assign, approve, reconcile and report activities. Oversee all financial activities related to processing of gifts through credit cards and checks in the CHF. Act as the primary liaison with the MUSC Foundation on activity related to the CHF accounts. Ensure monthly transactions are processed correctly. Meet weekly with Director of Development to report on all aspects of development operations, check requests and /or other deposits in the CHF.Essential

Job summary: This position provides overall administrative management and coordination of business related functions for MUSC Children’s Hospital Fund (CHF) Development Office, including finance, budget, gift administration and special event fundraising financial management and reporting.


Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 6: $39,960.00 - $56,947.00 - $73,935.00 (min - mid - max)


FLSA: Salaried


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and four years professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending. A job-related bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two years of the required work experience.
