Job Summary/Purpose: The Revenue Integrity Liaison II reports to the Revenue Integrity Manager/Coordinator. Under indirect supervision, the Revenue Integrity Liaison II functions as a resource to revenue-generating clinical areas to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal charging policies and third party payer requirements. This position monitors revenue volumes and timeliness by cost center and compares with baselines to identify trends that may require intervention. The Liaison also works with Revenue Integrity Analysts to identify root cause to billing edits caused by charge capture workflows and collaborate with clinical departments to institute preventative measures. This role may also provide assistance with education and training related to charge capture and documentation to ensure timely and accurate revenue generation.

Minimum Training and Education: A high school diploma and five years of professional work experience in healthcare or a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance.  A bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two years of the required work experience. Bachelor degree preferred.   Knowledge of hospital operations, hospital reimbursement, hospital charging practices, and governmental coding requirements required. Medical terminology and CRCA Certification preferred. Coding credentialed in at least one of the following coding certifications - CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, CCS, or CCS-P is preferred.  Understanding of compliance issues and their importance and consequences. Knowledge of reference resources for information relevant to Charge Master. Must be detail oriented. Must be able to communicate effectively with all hospital personnel. Must possess demonstrated problem solving skills.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Medical terminology and CRCA Certification preferred. Coding credentialed in at least one of the following coding certifications - CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, CCS, or CCS-P is preferred.
