Job Duties:
10Attend departmental meetings and UMA/MUSC sponsored meetings/events or training sessions. Complete all required training elements as well as updates within the time designed. Other duties as assigned by physician or supervisor (i.e., providing back up to other administrative staff or supervisor).Essential
30Assisting with indirect patient care including scheduling labs, radiological, and other ancillary appointments; posting surgeries received by physician or other sources, pre-certifying insurance coverage; coordinating with OR staff any conflicts or additional OR space requests; scanning internal and external documentation in patient chartEssential
30Duties performed include but not limited to facilitating patient clinic appointments and surgical appointments via scheduling, phone calls, EPIC messaging, email, fax, etc.; documenting in patient chart; reviewing clinic and OR schedules for accuracy and appropriateness; coordinating with clinical and/or OR staff in preparation of clinic and/or OR; serving as liaison between physicians and patients.Essential
30Maintaining physician’s calendar for surgeries and other events, coordinating and communicating availability with all staff members when necessary. Handling all correspondences to include typing patient letters or other requests such as letters of recommendation; maintaining physician credentialing documents; managing CME and professional licensure and affiliation needs; maintaining up-to-date physician CV.Essential


Job summary: The Department of Urology is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to one or more clinical/surgical physician(s). Duties include in-depth administrative knowledge. Must interact professionally and be able to communicate effectively.


Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $26,988.00 - $38,460.00 - $49,932.00 (min - mid - max)


FLSA: Hourly


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and two years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Some positions require a valid driver's license and good driving record; or correctable vision of 20/40 in both eyes, with or without conventional lenses, and physical qualifications in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Section 391.41; or AAVMA certification. Some positions require eligibility for bonding.
