Job summary: The Department of Medicine and the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina are recruiting for a new Division Director of Hematology/Oncology. The successful applicant should be a dynamic leader with board certification in internal medicine and hematology/oncology and have demonstrable administrative experience as well as a strong academic background in clinical/translational oncology research.

The Division Director will be responsible for ongoing development of the Hematology/Oncology Division, including in our 3 major mission areas – research, education, and clinical care. The Division Director will be provided with a significant start-up package to recruit additional faculty into specific new and growing research and clinical programs. The Division Director will also work closely with the Hollings Cancer Center and will have significant leadership responsibilities in the Cancer Center. The Hollings Cancer Center is designated by the National Cancer Institute and has state-of-the-art clinical and research facilities including a highly developed clinical trials office with a growing multi-center trials network and Phase I trials program, a robust biorepository and tissue analysis resource, a genomics core, and a cell evaluation and therapy facility. The Center has NCI approved programs in developmental cancer therapeutics, cancer immunology, cancer biology, and cancer control. In addition, clinical and translational research at the Hollings Cancer Center and the University is supported by an NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Award.
