Job Duties:
10Assist managers with special projects and assignments as needed. This entails assisting the department administrator with the annual budget process, space inventories and contracting appropriate personnel to request assistance with repairs, renovations, computer issues, etc. Provide backup to support staff as needed.Essential
10Department Procurement and Travel– serves as the Department Purchasing Card liaison, and is responsible for ensuring expenses are allocated to appropriate UDAKs for all P-Card holders.Essential
20Inventory: Processes and submits Annual Inventory report through Asset Works, or MUSC’s most current software. Maintains a small inventory of office supplies. Maintains departmental UPS/FedEx accounts, and assists department personnel with shipping needs. Accepts deliveries for weekly supplies, unpacks and stores accordingly.Essential
20Reconciles Health Science Foundation accounts in UMS to monthly financial statements. Internally tracks conference registrations, dues, subscriptions to professional journals, etc in order to avoid paying for anything twice. Maintains an “internal inventory” spreadsheet to track procurement domains per the Fiscal Analyst III’s direction.Essential
35Departmental Procurement and Travel- processes all purchasing, travel, registration, airline requests through UMS, utilizing multiple funding sources, i.e University, UMA, HSF funds. Orders supplies such as office supplies, letterhead & envelopes, computer systems and components, furniture, educational materials, and additional items for new faculty/staff (keys, business cards, lab-coats etc). Ensures all purchases conform with institutional policies and procedures. Utilizes State purchasing card for a variety of University purposes. All purchasing card usage must be in compliance with Policies and Procedures as established by State procurement guidelines. Follow-up on procurement discrepancies, returns, credits, etc. Maintain filing system of hard copies of procurement documents. Ensures all payments and reimbursements are done in a timely manner. Stay current with State purchasing criteria. Works with supervisor to ensure proper funds sources are used.Essential
5Develops and tracks the weekly Front Desk and mail distribution calendar for the weekly assignment of Administrative Assistants.Essential


Job summary:  Under the supervision of the Fiscal Analyst III, the fiscal technician assists with coordination of fiscal activities across all Divisions of the Neurology Department, to include weekly procurement through MUSC financial systems to include, P-Card, Marketplace, UMS, and processing of procurement contracts.  The Fiscal Technician also oversees the annual inventory submission, and coordinates daily office needs and repairs. 


Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $27,527.00 - $39,228.00 - $50,930.00 (min - mid - max)


FLSA: Hourly


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and two years of experience in clerical accounting or bookkeeping.
