MUSC Medical Center is hosting an Interview Blitz for all December/Fall 2019 BSN new graduates (unless current MUSC employee) seeking future employment and participation in our Nurse Residency Program, on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in our James W. Colbert Education Center & Library Building from 8:30am - 5:00pm.  All interested candidates, must complete an online application and attach a resume no later than August 23.  Please also attach current BLS if you have one.  You MUST also complete a brief survey at https://forms.gle/GhHXCzGCMxFku84u8 to provide us with your top areas of interest before you will be considered for an interview at this event.  Keep in mind, our high volume areas are critical care, Children's & Women's Services.  For a detailed unit description listing, event flyer and Nurse Residency Program information, please go to https://muschealth.org/patients-visitors/about-us/hr/2019-interview-blitz.  

If selected for an interview, please be prepared for a half hour behavioral based onsite interview with Nurse Managers, unit leaders and peer team on Saturday, September 21.  Service areas participating in this Interview Blitz include Children's, Women's Services, ICU's, Adult Med/Surg, Neurosciences, Musculoskeletal, Digestive Health, Oncology, Heart & Vascular, Surgical Services, Mental Health, Transplant and others.  We anticipate extending conditional offers to successful candidates September  25-30.  The successful candidate must provide confirmation of acceptance within 3 business days of conditional offer.  All selected candidates will automatically be enrolled in our New Graduate Nurse Residency Program and must be able to successfully pass boards and begin Orientation in the months of January, February & March 2019.  Once the candidates are selected for interviews for each unit, you will receive an email request to sign up electronically for your interview time.

If you are not familiar with our beautiful campus, we will be offering guided campus tours at various times throughout the day.  No need to sign up in advance.  You may park in our Ashley-Rutledge Parking Garage located at 158 Ashley Avenue, Charleston, 29403, which can be accessed from both Ashley and Rutledge Avenues.  Bring your parking pass to the registration table, and we will validate your parking.

Hours per week:   Full-time 36 hours per week

Scheduled Work Hours/Shift:  3 12 hour rotating, or straight night shifts per week, including some weekends & holidays

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. 

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree required to participate in the Interview Blitz unless a current MUSC employee. Must successfully obtain SC or compact state license prior to attending Orientation.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
