Job Duties:
20Coordinate specific projects in consultation with the Associate Director of Research Learning & Development • To provide regular training for end users to facilitate understanding and use of learning tools. • Consult regularly with program managers, program coordinators, and learners on their use of technology; solicit feedback, analyze and recommend improvements. • Perform other duties as required.Essential

30Assist in the promotion, integration and use of technology • Create and maintain instructional reference materials for program managers, instructors to support the integration and delivery of educational tools and applications. • Provide creative and appropriate solutions based on program managers’ specific instructional goals. • Maintain a high level of instructional design knowledge and monitor ongoing developments in the field of learning technology.Essential
30Develop and manage relationships with program managers and instructors to implement improvements to new and existing courses • Facilitate the course revision and quality assurance testing of all course materials before the course is made available to students. • Consult with program managers on course revision and updates to online course content based on feedback and best practices. • Work closely with program managers and instructors (in person and remotely) and other Subject Matter Experts to design, develop, and support high-quality online, hybrid and face-to-face courses.Essential


Job summary: In the continuing effort to enhance educational opportunities for faculty, staff and advanced trainees in the area of research at MUSC, there is an increasing need for skilled professional staff to assist in the development of quality courses, using effective teaching strategies, and including the integration of technology. With the demand for technology integration, is also the need for the provision of technology support and development of multi-media artifacts. This position will also support the additional need of ensuring all digital content is accessibility compliant.


Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 5: $33,494.00 - $47,734.00 - $61,975.00 (min - mid - max)


FLSA: Hourly


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree and one year experience in curriculum management or development. A master's degree in education may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Training and Experience: A master's degree in education may be substituted for the required work experience.

Additional Knowledge, Skill and Ability Preferred:

  • MA, MS or MET in Instructional/Educational Technology, Education, Learning Science or the equivalent combination of education and comparable skills.
  • Professional experience working as an instructional designer.
  • Must be responsive, team-oriented, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and project management skills.
  • Experience designing courses within an LMS (preferably Moodle and Blackboard).
  • Experience working closely with SMEs in a higher education environment to design courses in online and hybrid formats.
  • Experience developing interactive course content utilizing digital creation tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or iSpring.
  • Knowledge of best practices for supporting and/or integrating Universal Design for Learning, accessibility and Open Educational Resources.
  • Experience with graphic design or video editing tools.
  • Familiarity with fundamental instructional, multimedia, and graphic design principles.
