Job Summary:

Mid-Career or Senior Educator/Researcher Track

Rank: Associate Professor or above

Opportunity: This is a full time, tenure track position. The successful candidate will have an identified and focused program of research, with a demonstrated record of external research funding, and academic teaching and service experience. The successful candidate will contribute to our major multidisciplinary-based funding initiatives in the college and across campus, such as the Technology Applications Center for Healthful Lifestyles (TACHL), our Center for Symptom Self-Management, and our Center for Community Health Partnerships. Funded research programs in the College address health disparities, health promotion, disease prevention, patient and provider-based management of chronic diseases and symptom management, and related healthcare issues. Teaching responsibilities will reflect one’s area of expertise and will include courses at the graduate level, curriculum/program planning, facilitating and implementing innovative teaching strategies, mentorship of doctoral students, and scholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to relocate to Charleston, South Carolina area upon hire.

Minimum Training and Education:

Qualifications include a degree in nursing and a doctorate in nursing, behavioral sciences, public health, computer sciences or related fields. Candidates should also possess a record of scholarship supporting their program of research. The ideal candidate will also teach select courses at the graduate level. Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
