Job Duties:
15Regulatory assistance: Duties will also include preparing for study monitoring or audit visits and assisting with Institutional Review Board submissions.Essential
25Behavioral data collection: The successful candidate will independently guide participants through study visits and collect data based on surveys and testing, which they will be trained to conduct.Essential
25Subject recruitment, consent, and screening: The successful candidate will support recruitment strategies, screen research volunteers, schedule study visits, and document consent. The successful candidate will receive training and need to understand the ethical conduct of research and safeguards for human subjects research activities.Essential
35Data coding and entry, basic data processing, and quality control: The successful candidate will score task performance, enter participant data into REDCap databases, run software applications to prepare data for analyses, and regularly check data to ensure their accuracy, communicating with other study personnel to resolve routine problems, and participating in research meetings to facilitate implementation of the study.Essential


Job summary: The Cochlear Implant Quality of Life Research Program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC is seeking a Research Coordinator to assist with ongoing research studies that are designed to understand the functional outcomes in patients that receive cochlear implants.  The Research Coordinator plays an important role in this research by operating as the point of contact and assisting with data collection from participants.

Special Skills: The successful candidate will have exceptional social skills to interact with participants, is detail-oriented and has excellent organizational skills, has interest in developing new technical skills that are likely into include computational activities.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $27,527.00 - $39,228.00 - $50,930.00 (min - mid - max)

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and two years work experience in a clinical or research setting; a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science may be substituted for the two years of required experience.

Preferred Experience: Bachelor’s degree in biology or psychology or other science field and those with prior work experience.
