Job Duties:
25Perform duties related to the receipt and administration of funded awards. Duties include: a. Receive award/JIT information provided by ORSP regarding the establishment of UDAKs and special requirements. b. Authorize and manage the establishment and closing of UDAKs in UMS along with the proper approvals, dates, budget amounts, etc. c. Record data regarding the award on necessary internal data management spreadsheets. d. Initiate and maintain necessary documentation for establishing subcontracts as needed. e. Assist with rebudgeting requests for awards and contracts. Tracking and facilitating communication between PI and funding agencies regarding changes in effort, contractual arrangements, carryover requests, no-cost extensions, etc. and assist in continuations.Essential
35Assist Faculty with the development and preparation of grant proposals and submissions. Specifically, duties will include but are not limited to: a. Liaison with Investigators, grantees and sub-awardees in the assembly of documents needed for submission. b. Obtain and review program announcements to determine submission process and initiate the indicated process e.g. CAYUSE, Grants.gov. c. Assist investigators with budget design and budget justifications when necessary. This task includes ensuring that the budget is within funding agency and MUSC policies. d. Engage subcontractors and consultants and obtain necessary information from them for submission process. e. Responsible for the final submission of grants and contracts f. Assist faculty with HR requirements for recruiting and hiring staff for grant funded projects.Essential
35Maintain fiscal/accounting duties for a group of well-funded investigators/grantees within the Addiction Sciences Division of the Department of Psychiatry. Specific tasks include: a. Reconcile UDAKs in UMS on a monthly basis paying particular attention to encumbrances on subcontracts, F&A withholdings, revenue generation, and outdated commitments/encumbrances that need to be eliminated. Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to Investigators/grantees. b. Ensure the accurate documentation of all non-payroll financial transactions. Supervise all non-payroll research-related expenditures in UMS by employees of the grantees. c. Manage the procurement activities of special contracts and consulting arrangements. Obtain and process invoices from subcontractors and consultants in SmartStream. d. Communicate effectively with investigators/grantees regarding the fiscal aspects of their projects. Attend meetings, as requested, in order to enhance understanding of project needs. e. Meet regularly and collaborate with Administrative Manager on financial activity and issues arising from financial transactions.Essential

Job summary: This position will work with assigned faculty to develop, prepare and submit grant proposals via various online systems. The incumbent will be part of a team of research faculty and staff, and will be required to develop sufficient understanding of the projects and their objectives to effectively support the projects from an administrative and financial perspective.  The incumbent will also provide technical financial assistance post award to the Investigators and Administrative Manager working with financial programs, software, and reporting mechanisms. Additionally, this position will provide support for contractual and consulting activities associated with grant awards. This position will work closely with faculty, ORSP and other administrative offices to ensure all pre-award requirements are met and all post-award activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.


Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 7: $49,594.00 - $70,674.00 - $91,755.00 (min - mid - max)


FLSA: Salaried


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or the social sciences and four years experience in contracts and grant administration activities.
