10Perform/oversee clinical assessments and rating scales for human subjects as required by study protocol.Essential
10Review study procedures with potential participants and obtain informed consent.Essential
15Act as physician designee to answer protocol questions and address problematic or serious adverse events.Essential
15Perform/oversee safety assessments to include vital signs, electrocardiograms, blood draws, and lab processing.Essential
35Perform Physical Exams.Essential
5Complies with all MUSC policies and procedures and Federal and State regulations.Essential
5Dispense and prescribe study medications and help verify drug compliance per study protocol.Essential

Job Summary: Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support research study activities in the MUSC Addiction Sciences Division. NP will assist with patient assessment and research protocol conduct. Physician Assistants will also be considered for this position.


Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 0: Commensurate with experience.


FLSA: Salaried


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse and hold official recognition as a Nurse Practitioner by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.

(Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet. Must be ambidextrous. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually.
