Job Summary: The Grants Coordinator II is responsible for database management associated with Hollings Cancer Center’s Cancer Center Support grant. Position is primarily responsible for the entry, retrieval, analysis, and reporting of HCC membership related data. Additional responsibilities include pre-award grant support and post award grant management.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 5: $33,494.00 - $47,734.00 - $61,975.00 (min - mid - max)

Job Duties: 

  • 35% - Database Management for HCC members and HCC grants and publications (database maintenance/oversight/entry). • Participate in bi-weekly meetings with HCC’s Network and Systems Administrator to identify issues related to the database and assist in the development of reporting processes and outcomes. • Provide membership updates to Provost Office for entry into Infinity. • Track PubMed Central Reference Numbers (PMCID) on publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and update the database. • Assist the Network and Systems Administrator in the process of capturing cancer relevant publications and grants for inclusion in the CCSG annual report. • Maintain HCC member biosketches in database for CCSG renewals and other HCC grant proposals. • Update grants in the database and generate reports as needed. • Retrieve, review and analyze reports from database to ensure accuracy and current processes. • Mine data for retrieval and analysis when requested by HCC members, program leaders, and HCC Administration. - (Essential)
  • 35% - HCC institutional support, grant assistance, and annual reporting • Provide information to the HCC Communications division regarding activity of HCC members including new membership, publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and cancer relevant grant awards. • Provide support to shared resource cores by sending annual surveys and scheduling internal advisory meetings. • Provide weekly funding opportunity announcements to HCC members and campus-wide research personnel. • Assist in the preparation and submission of educational grants such as the K12 Paul Calabresi Career Development Award for Clinical Oncology and the T32 Institutional Research Training Grant. • Facilitate the annual CCSG, K12, and T32 External Advisory Board and the Internal Advisory Council meetings. • Assist with the preparation and submission of the annual CCSG non-competing progress report and subsequent competing renewal. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Administrative management of American Cancer Society-Institutional Research Grant (ACS-IRG) and HCC Intramural funding opportunities • Compile internal applications and submits to committee chair(s). • Coordinate the internal and external advisory committee members and schedules meetings. • Attend review sessions and tracks application results. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other administrative duties • Maintain HCC website and update information related to pilot funding opportunities. • Provide updates on HCC administrative research pages - (Essential)

 

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree and two years business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience.

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills:  Bachelor’s degree and two to three years’ experience in data entry and reporting, analysis and management of information. Extensive experience with Excel. Critical thinking skills. Communication, organization and customer service skills.
