Job Summary/PurposeThe MUSC Manager of Student Health Services reports to the MUSC Health Director of Student Health Services. The MUSC Manager of Student Health Services works to support the Executive Director of Student Health Services at Clemson in managing the day-to-day clinic operations at Redfern Health Center at Clemson University. The MUSC Manager helps ensure effective operations and proactively assesses and implements appropriate processes to ensure that all facets of clinic management are effectively addressed. The MUSC Manager works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Student Health Services and Clemson physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure timely patient access to care, operational efficiency, practice optimization, fiscal integrity, and to foster the delivery of a quality patient care experience.  The MUSC Manager assists the Executive Director with clinical outcomes, fiscal stewardship, staff growth/retention, process improvement, metrics reporting and development and quality of patient care.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Nursing, Business Management, or relevant field required; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred or completion expected within 4 years in position.  A minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience in healthcare required; previous experience in a student health environment highly preferred.  Current knowledge of procedures, techniques, equipment, technical advances and regulatory agencies and standards within the field of student health required. Ability to implement sound business and human resource management principles essential.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
