UNIV- Assistant Director of Administrative Operations (Hollings) Charleston, SC
The Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) Assistant Director of Administrative Operations is a multi-faceted position responsible for management of the regulatory, financial and other administrative functions of the HCC Clinical Trials Office (CTO). This individual will work closely with unit managers and provide supervisory support and mentorship. This position will report to the HCC CTO director and provide financial and administrative metric reporting and participate in strategic planning and program and policy development. The position requires knowledge of the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) and specifically requirements of the Protocol Review and Monitoring System. The position will serve as a liaison to MUSC investigators and external partners and oversee the development of new external partnerships through the grant and other multicenter institutional clinical trials. Included in oversight of research partnerships is the administration of the Minority-Underserved NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) grant and other external research partnerships. MUSC partnerships include both statewide and national academic and community cancer center collaborations. This individual must be knowledgeable of Food and Drug Administration federal regulations, local regulatory agency policies, and international Good Clinical Practice Guidelines to ensure that the conduct of clinical research activities remain in good standing and research performance excels in quality and efficiency. The position will also need to understand fiscal principals and assist with reporting for the CCSG.

MUHA GB64 - Social Worker (MSW) Hollings Cancer Center
The Social Worker (MSW) reports to the Manager of Case Management. Under indirect supervision, the Social Worker (MSW) assists with coordination of the discharge process to ensure a successful transition in collaboration with the health care team to achieve targeted patient outcomes. The Social Worker (MSW) completes an Assessment on the patient and caregivers throughout the hospitalization and outpatient follow-up as needed. This position identifies risk factors that the patient may experience after discharge and apply discharge interventions to lower the patient risk of an undesirable event post discharge. This position assists with the discharge process and promotes a successful transition out of the hospital through coordinated efforts between the health care team members to achieve targeted patient outcomes. The Social Worker bridges the discharge to outpatient provider with the patient and caregiver to address issues and questions.

The 66 bed Neonatal Intensive and Intermediate Care Units are located in our Children's Hospital. The MUSC NICU is the regional referral center for this area, providing care to premature and sick neonates. The average daily census is 66. The Neonatal ICUs provides medical and surgical care with most common diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, and neonatal surgical conditions. In addition to respiratory and nutritional support, the NICUs provide ECMO/CRRT and surgical support. Pediatric Palliative care is available as needed. Two units located on the 8th floor of Children's Hospital include the 27 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the 9 bed Special Care Nursery. The 29 bed Level 2 Nursery is adjacent to Labor and Delivery on the 5th floor of MUSC's Main Hospital. The NICU also supports an infant home monitoring program for infants requiring monitoring upon discharge. All NICU beds are monitored beds. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work with physicians and team management to assist in direct patient care, case management, practice development, and implementation of policies and procedures focused on patient-centered care models. The candidate will train in Charleston for the first 6 months then they will transition to Florence, SC.
