This role applies knowledge of clinical cardiology, acoustic imaging technology, and problem-solving skills to optimize the echocardiographic evaluation, tailoring and expanding the exam to ensure comprehensiveness and diagnostic accuracy and requires independent and efficient performance of Echo exams. This role organizes and prioritizes patient exams, and contributes to unit teamwork. With limited supervision, the Clinical Staff Leader (CSL) reports to the Nurse Manager. For each shift worked, the CSL functions as the department’s designated nurse leader providing operational oversight and staff supervision. The CSL works in coordination with nursing leadership. The position ensures the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and department goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations, and guidelines. The CSL promotes Shared Governance structure and functions. The CSL assists with providing leadership presence and staff support by providing coverage for a minimum 1 holiday per year and 2 weekend shifts per six (6) weeks of unit staffing schedule, or the equivalent of 3 weekend shifts every 2 schedules.

This is a central research administration position, reporting to the Associate Director, Prospective Reimbursement Analysis (PRA) in the Office for Clinical Research (OCR) under the Office for the Vice President for Research. This position will provide support for both the OCR and for the South Carolina Clinical & Translational Research Institute (SCTR). In collaboration with PIs and study teams, this position will triage OCR human subject studies; analyze clinical research study documents and identify studies requiring SCTR and/or MUSC Health services; map study conduct logistics and assess and verify proposed reimbursement for all services; identify and provide pricing for SCTR services and coordinate with OCR PRA Managers review of MUSC Health services to support budget development; and build study and study billing calendar in SPARCRequest to support tracking of SCTR services for invoicing and reporting. This position will coordinate and collaborate closely with the OCR Prospective Reimbursement Analysis (PRA), Research Opportunities, Sponsor invoicing, Clincard, Metric Reporting and SCTR Research Nexus administrators and staff to ensure efficient, high quality study activation and conduct.
