The RN-Program Patient Care Coordinator for the Movement Disorders Program reports to the Director of the Movement Disorders Program. Under limited supervision, the RN-Patient Care Coordinator facilitates the care of patients, contributes to the plan of care and interacts with members of the healthcare team. The RN Patient Care Coordinator will manage all aspects of the Movement Disorders interdisciplinary clinic, including care coordination between the participating sub- specialties, patient education, organization of team meetings and primary responsibility for communicating of team meeting results back to the patient. The Coordinator implements programmatic changes and updates clinical practice based on current research and the needs of the patients. In this this role, the nurse functions as a liaison between the various care providers in the interdisciplinary clinic and the patients, families, and referring physicians. In addition, the incumbent will be a liaison between the clinical and research aspects of the movement disorders program, educating clinic patients about research opportunities, and proving RN level research coordinator support for selected movement disorders clinical trials.
