The Adult EP lab performs approximately 500 cases per year that range from device implants (Pacemakers and ICD’s) to simple and complex cardiac ablations to treat atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. There is also projected growth within the EP lab from the addition of a new Cardiologist this past fiscal year. The EP RN can act in a variety of different roles within the EP lab by performing in the scrubbing, monitoring and nursing/circulating role. The EP lab utilizes anesthesia for the majority of the procedures performed but will also use moderate sedation to perform some of the less complex cases. The new grad RN will learn to perform all roles within the EP lab during orientation except for monitoring complex ablations. This role usually takes a longer time to learn and will require more experience within the EP lab prior to starting this role.

The Digestive Disease Inpatient Units are 21 bed general medical/surgical units that provide care to patients with multiple GI diagnoses and complex nursing care requirements including patients in the Bariatric and Autologus Islet Cell Programs. Individuals admitted to the Digestive Disease Inpatient Units consist of individuals 17 years of age or greater. With service line administrator approval adolescent patients may also be admitted to the Bariatric Surgery and Autologous Islet Cell Transplant Programs. The primary medical services are the Luminal Service which is the General Medical Hospitalist Private and Teaching Services, the Hepatology Service, and GI Surgery Service which is divided into Pancreobiliary, Bariatric, and Surgical Oncology. We deliver complex nursing care and use a modified modular nursing model which enhances our teamwork. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

The Maintenance Contract Manager reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Under limited supervision, the Maintenance Contract Manager is responsible for directing, managing, and supervising equipment maintenance and service contracts for several building systems. Building systems and services include but are not limited to: elevators, fire alarms, chillers, digital building controls, water treatment, and pest control. This role effectively oversees and manages the daily activities of the various maintenance contract vendors to assure that contracted maintenance tasks are properly coordinated, executed, and documented. The Maintenance Contract Manager is designated as essential personnel in a Disaster Situation.
