This position conducts initial admission reviews and refers cases for secondary review when appropriate. This role ensures the adherence to regulatory requirements with Medicare, FFS Medicaid, and other government payers. The UM Nurse refers and consults with the multidisciplinary team to promote appropriate communication of the review results to hospital revenue professionals to ensure proper utilization of hospital resources for accurate reimbursement.

This role facilitates timely completion of the front end registration process and work closely with physicians and nurses to provide optimal quality care to patients. The Patient Access Services Team Lead verifies various payment methods available (insurance, self-pay, agency) working with patients to set up payment arrangements to include applying for assistance programs. This position assists in collecting copayments and deductibles, and solves basic billing inquiries.
