This position reviews and verifies all payment methods available (insurance, self-pay, agency) and patient/insurance information. This role works with patients to set up payment arrangements and to arrange/apply for assistance programs. The Patient Access Services Representative assists in collecting copayments and deductibles, and solves basic billing inquiries.

Strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Outlook software; Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat software is a plus. Preferred: A bachelor's degree in accounting with hospital/healthcare based work experience; MBA, MHA, CHFP or CPA designation a plus.
MUHA AD37 - Project Accountant Charleston, SC, Parkshore Centre
The Project Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager in Hospital Fiscal Services and performs complex professional accounting duties related to MUHA’s major growth projects, including capital projects, joint ventures, partnerships and collaboration. This position monitors and interprets accounting literature to ensure that MUHA’s related accounting policies and treatments are in compliance with GAAP, GASB and other state and federal regulations. This position performs other duties that require analysis of complex accounting, audit and financial reporting issues, and includes the interim and fiscal year-end financial reporting and audit for responsible areas.
