Job description:

Manage the Client Devices team with a client-focused approach. Developing and implementing organisational strategies for timely full lifecycle management of the client facing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) assets for the Agency. Ensure the selection, deployment, maintenance and replacement of fit for purpose ICT assets that is in accordance with current cybersecurity best practice.

Fixed-Term, Full Time until 10 November 2025

Duties

Manage the Client Devices team with a client-focused approach. Developing and implementing organisational strategies for timely full lifecycle management of the client facing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) assets for the Agency. Ensure the selection, deployment, maintenance and replacement of fit for purpose ICT assets that is in accordance with current cybersecurity best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • This role has a focus on the life cycle management of a wide range of client facing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) assets used by frontline Police, Fire and SES staff.
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to engage the team in the organisation’s strategy and to create a positive and collaborative working environment for customer focused service delivery.
  • Contributes to the development of the DPFEM computing devices SOE and deployment of systems associated with management of the departments assets.

Essential Requirements

The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment.   • Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
  • Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
  • Making false declarations;
  • Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
  • Malicious damage and destruction to property
  • Trafficking of narcotic substance;
  • False alarm raising. 

Desirable Requirements

Qualifications or a commensurate level of experience in a relevant technical discipline, together with management experience is required.

Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft SCCM, and ITIL V3/4 methodology would be an advantage.
